Maria Luisa Hernandez

Maria Luisa Hernandez was educated in Chile and has developed an international career. In 1988, Maria was invited to exhibit in Stockholm, Sweden, the cultural capital of Europe that year. Her exhibition, supported by a government scholarship, was titled "Living in the Light" and marked the beginning of her career in Europe.

Since then, she has continued to develop her work, inspired by the experience of travel and living abroad. The artist has also studied at the Prince's Drawing School in London where she currently lives and works.

"Maria Lusia's painting is, in essence, an atmosphere play of colour and light, the two anchors of her work. Her hallmark is insinuation and evocation rather than description."

Pedro Labowitz, Art Critic
